The police follow fashion in these matters. In the 80s they had to have Smith & Wesson revolvers and Remington shotguns, now it is de rigeur to have Glocks and HKs.

I read a report in the Daily Telegraph that the Kalashnikovs used in Paris were theatrical deacts from Slovakia, sold to an arms dealer in Brussels. Whether that is correct or not I cannot say.

The rifle used in Denmark is reported to be an M95, which is the Danish version of the Canadian C7. Stolen, apparently, from the home of a Home Guard member. I didn't know Denmark still had one.
