Article.

So they've sent in the cops to seize their correspondence. I find it very hard to believe that SIG-Sauer didn't have some inkling those guns were going to be re-exported, that's a huge order.

Quote:
German officials say they granted the required licence for those exports after receiving written assurances by US officials that the weapons would remain in the United States.

So why raid SIG-Sauer then? I don't see diplomatic relations between the US and Germany improving soon...

On the SIG-Sauer website it says:

Quote:
In December of 2004 the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command at the Rock Island Arsenal awarded SIG SAUER a contract for 5,000 SIG SAUER SP2022 pistols chambered in 9mm.

So someone buys 64,500 and you have no clue who in the US Govt. is using them?

This is a bit odd: Article.

Apparently one of the laptops seized from SIG-Sauer by the prosecutor has gone missing from lock-up.

So looking at the SIG-Sauer website, the list of foreign distributors for their military and police guns has disappeared and the Beechwood Equipment website no longer mentions them.

In talking to SIG-Sauer USA they tell me all production will be moved there by November. Not sure if that includes all the Sauer hunting rifles.

Hmm.
