How's the pigeon shooting going?

I did quite well one night a week or so ago. Went out with the old hammergun, 25 eley 28 grm sixes and a game bag. No cammo or decoys. Sat in the hedge by some stubble, shot a pigeon, put it out as a decoy and repeated the process for a couple of hours. I was a bit out of practice and was missing a lot at first but got it together after a while and came back with 10 pigeons for 25 cartridges. Even got one with my last shot!

We had pigeon and plum kebabs at the Shooting club barbecue at the weekend - very tasty.

I went a couple of evenings ago but the ground had been tilled and the pigeons were feeding elsewhere.

What does everyone else do as regards cartridges and kit etc for pigeons?

Best wishes,

Neil Mac'
