Not surprising, I can barely understand them myself (note I haven't updated the legal section of the website) so I'm sure the Garda can't either.
Irish gun laws and Massachusetts gun laws imo are the most complex in the English-speaking world, I always find that somewhat ironic given the historical connections. There is a bill in Massachusetts I saw that would simplify them, even the anti-gunners support it!
There are pages of laws and regulations in Ireland for example merely to explain the licensing of dealers in realistic imitation firearms and who can legally possess them. Let alone actual firearms.
"Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009" - very specific, I don't think.
Only three things are certain: death, taxes and stupid gun laws.
