I don't know about the MGs but a live No.4 is betweeen £130-250. (more for something really special) Why not get an FAC and have a real one?
The real test when buying anything is "have you got £xx of satisfaction for your money"? (unless you're doing it as a business of course)
I've just shelled out £4053 for a TRG22 with a Schmidt und Bender 5-25x56 scope.
I anticipate deriving a great deal of pleasure from shooting it! (Starts tomorrow!)
Then again, in terms of value for money, the BSA Sportsman 15 22RF bolt action rifle that I paid £6 for has not only given me a great deal of shooting enjoyment but has also provided a lot of enjoyable dinners! I'm still astonished that I once shot a (witnessed) 3 round 1/2" group at 175 yards with it. 6x scope off a sandbag. I doubt I could repeat the feat but it showed the quality of the rifle.
I 'm not into de-acts myself, I hate to see great engineering mutilated.
Best wishes,
Neil Mac' |

You can have an FAC at 14 but can't purchase anything on it until you are 17. Costs £56 at present I think, applicaion is you local police. You will also need to figure in costs such cabinet, etc.

As J says, you can have an FAC at 14. Have a look at:
http://www.essex.police.uk/services/s_fa_08.php
It costs £50 for the grant (J had it wrong) and £40 to renew. It lasts 5 years.
For clubs in the Swansea area try the NRA on: 01483 797777.
I know it's a bit long winded, but if you have a look at the guidance, it'll give you an idea of the criteria:

Cheers

It used to be £56, it was dropped to £50 a few years ago, IIRC. _________________ Steve.
