Done.

I imagine that at one time this was called "sportsman of the year". This of course has a rather different meaning to "sports personality of the year". I suppose being entertaining off the field and looking good on camera count for more than sporting achievement.

Best wishes,

Neil Mac'

Mick Gault duly voted for.
Am I being cynical or do you think that even if all of the shooters in the UK voted for Mick, he might be overlooked?

It's the BBC. How can you suggest such a thing! Wink
Cheers

Have a look at the Rules - everyone in the country could vote and be ignored! Worth a complaint to the BBC?

A shortlist of contenders will be drawn up by collating nominations from three groups of people - they are:

1 The public through the BBC Sport website and by post

2 A selection of national and regional newspaper and magazine sport editors

3 A BBC Sport panel of experts

Each editor, the BBC Sport panel and the general public will produce a list of 10 nominations. These will then be collated to form the final 10-person shortlist. In the event of a tie, the editor's decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.

It's always the small print...gets them every time.

Well we can but try. I have no doubt that the BBC will give Mick's nomination due consideration and place him in the final ten Wink

The BBC make sure the shortlist is rigged. For years anglers tried to get one fo their chaps nominated, as theirs is a popular sport, but the Beeb made sure it never happened. They have probably stopped trying now, you can't fight city hall.

My favorite sport person is Datuk Nicole Ann David. Her achievements are where she is currently ranked World No. 1 in woman’s squash and the first Asian woman to be ranked World No. 1 in the sport. She held the World Open title in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009, and the British Open title in 2005, 2006 and 2008.She won Asian squash championship for six time record!!. I choose her because its not always we see Asian people to carve their name in international sports and especially squash. And the other reason why I choose her because her performance momentum is balance and she never give up.

Fascinating Alfred. Where do you stand on the 9mm v .45 debate?

Fred looks like a spammer and has violated the board advertising rules plus this thread is an antique so I'm locking it.
