...for Elk in Colorado.
Three weeks in the US & eight days up at 9-12,000' in the Rockies with some great people for 2nd Rifle Season.
Flight: £460
Parking at Manchester: £65
Elk tag: £125
Accommodation: Free - staying with shooting buddies.
Good company & fantastic scenery: Absolutely priceless.
Apart from food, beer & ammunition. that makes it £650 for the trip - beats a fortnight at some holiday resort any way you look at it.
After failing to "score" last year, I'm determined to fill my tag this time: No easy does it at the start, as we found the elk moved way back into the mountains later in the week due to the number of hunters in the area.
Looks like I'll get to shoot another 3 gun match in Albuquerque while I'm over as well.
Life doesn't get much better than this. |

Which 3-gun match? _________________ Steve.

Nothing special: Just a local one outside Albuquerque - I'm "less than competitive" even at that level: Reasonable scores on rifle & shotgun but for obvious reasons my pistol shooting is sub par.
I checked their calendar & will be hunting when the next match is on, so I'll have to settle for some informal shooting with the New Mexico guys I know. |
